Thin Gauge Alloy Strip and Foil 
Arnold Magnetic Technologies’ Rolled Products Division manufactures precision rolled thin (0.060” to 0.0005” or 1.524 mm to 0.013 mm) and ultra-thin (0.00049” to 0.000069” or 0.01245 mm to 0.00175 mm) gauge metal strip products and foil products from a wide range of permanent and soft magnetic materials as well as non-magnetic alloys. These thin gauge strips and foils are commonly found in magnetic shielding, magnetic laminations, security price tags, medical implants, aerospace applications, and high temperature strip and metal tape wound core products.
Our technologically advanced, precision rolling mill has the expertise and capability to roll, anneal, and slit materials that require special handling, such as titanium, nickel, and constant expansion alloys, as well as a wide range of magnetic alloys. “Testimonial"MATERIALS

Arnold Rolled Products produces it’s ultra-thin metals on mills that can roll as thin as 0.000069" (0.0018 mm) by 4.0" (101.6 mm) wide. We also have mills that can roll 0.0005" (0.013 mm) x 17.5" (444.5 mm) wide. These thin and ultra-thin gauges are produced on Sendzimir type rolling mills and can be stored on coils for shipping.

SPECIAL PROCESSES
Some of the special treatments that can be performed on thin metal foils and thin metal strips include:
- Heat treatment: Intermediate and final heat treatment in a full selection of protective atmospheres to produce specified mechanical or magnetic properties. This includes thin tempered foils and strips and thin annealed foils and strips.
- Surface Cleaning: Whether etching in acid, scrubbing with alkali cleaners or treatment with our proprietary cleaning solutions, the removal of surface contamination and oxidation from rolled strip and foil is carefully monitored and controlled.
- Slitting: Widths as narrow as 0.035" (0.9 mm) at tolerances as close as +/- 0.0005" (0.013 mm) can be slit.
- Special coatings: Arnold can supply special coatings to finished thin metal foil, including protective plastics, insulators and lubricants.
Our Rolled Products Division offers metal and foil conversion, also known as cold reduction, of customer-owned materials such as strain gauge alloys, stainless steels, and red metals. We can convert these to ultra-thin foils and ultra-thin strips. We can also discuss with you the possibilities of having these materials annealed, tempered, and coiled for shipping.
