Position Title: Rare Earth Magnet Development Team Leader

Job Locations: Lupfig, Switzerland and Rochester, NY

Summary of Position: There are three distinct phases of work for this position. The first is a focused effort to improve current rare earth magnet production in Lupfig, Switzerland. The second, to run concurrently, is to develop the capability to produce an additional type of rare earth magnet, and the third and larger effort is to lead the establishment of rare earth magnet production in North America. This is a hands-on position working with and at times leading personnel to maximize the effectiveness of current equipment and procedures and equally as important to plan and develop new production capability. The individual must have a solid record of accomplishment in performing designed experiments.

Nature and Scope of Job Activities:
  • Apply best practices to the manufacture of samarium cobalt magnets with the objective of improving product quality, improving upon magnetic and physical properties and reducing manufacturing costs.
  • Lead and participate in the effort to establish a modern manufacturing facility for the production of world-class rare earth magnets in the USA.
  • Identify, specify, purchase, install and initiate operation of equipment associated with the manufacture and testing of rare earth magnets.
  • Write and implement manufacturing procedures.
  • Write and implement quality control and process control procedures.
  • Provide technical support for the specification, purchase, installation and use of magnetic measurement equipment.
  • Participate in the creation of training materials and perform training for both Arnold employees and customer personnel.
  • Identify market opportunities and trends related to magnetic products.
  • Assist and support sales efforts through customer visits, supply of technical specifications and test data.
Education and Experience, required:
  • BS or MS degree in an engineering, materials or science discipline
  • At least five years industrial experience
Education and Experience, desired:
  • Experience with magnetic materials, especially rare earths
  • Experience using FEA and CAD
  • Fluency in German

Position Title: Outside Sales Regional Account Manager

Job Locations: United States (No specific region)

Summary of Position: The primary purpose of this position is to increase magnetic assembly and permanent magnet sales within a specific North American region for the Permanent Magnet and Assembly Group of Arnold Magnetic Technologies. Primary growth will be through the development of a project pipeline accomplished through partnering with key strategic customers. Development of the pipeline will be accomplished by contacting and qualifying leads through direct sales efforts, networking, and follow-up. This individual is expected to work independently and travel to customers 50-75% of the time.

Nature and Scope of Job Activities:
  • New business development of magnetic assembly and permanent magnet sales for North America.
  • Maintain adequate on-going projects to meet tactical and strategic sales objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts with the goal of finding new leads and closing on existing potential business.
  • Participation in Tradeshows and Conferences.
  • Management of commercial items such as LTA's.
  • Assist in identifying market opportunities and trends related to magnetic products.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical field of study or experience
  • Ten plus (10+) years of outside technical sales
  • Preference will be given to candidates with five plus (5+) years of experience in selling machined components to OEM's or top-tier suppliers
  • MBA will be given preference
