Market Segment Discussion
Reprographic Systems refers to copiers and printers and covers the range from inexpensive $300 LaserJet printers to million dollar plus sophisticated, high speed color printing systems.

Systems utilizing magnetic toner require precision toner roll transfer assemblies. These may be individual rolls with multiple pole magnetic patterns or, in larger systems, rolls comprised of numerous magnets separated by filler material.

Magnetic materials utilized in these transfer rolls include:
Injection molded ferrite
Extruded ferrite
Sintered neodymium-iron-boron

Magnetic Prototyping, Testing and Training
Extensive magnetic prototyping and testing capabilities are available at the manufacturing locations and at our Magnetics Technology Center in Marengo, Illinois, USA.

Seminars in Magnetics are also available either at the Technology Center or at your company location. These classes are tailored to satisfy your needs, whether for inexperienced, non-technical persons or your most expert designers.

Boundary and Finite Element Analysis (BEA, FEA)

Complex devices can be modeled using boundary or finite element analysis.

Magnetic circuit analysis can lead to design innovation such as in this device which provides combinations of pole patterns to achieve precision switching of a Hall effect sensor (switch).

Application Example
Reprographic Toner Transfer Rolls span the range from single, injection molded components to assemblies of several magnets.

In all cases, the magnetic pattern is complex and must be precisely reproduced. This requires the highest quality magnets coupled with precision assembly. Magnetic Technologies Corporation has been providing precision assemblies for over 30 years.

Magnet materials may be high energy extruded flexible ferrite such as from Flexmag Industries or compression bonded neo such as from the Bonded Magnet Group of Arnold.
