The demand for high-performance, energy efficient motors is increasing. Technologies including thermal energy recovery systems and electrically assisted turbochargers, along with innovative materials, are enabling OEMs to meet this challenge. Conference Session: Technology Transfer from Aerospace to Electric Vehicles

Arnold Engineering Manager Aaron Williams will moderate a conference session at the Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo in September. The presentation will discuss key technologies used in aerospace that can be applied to the production of more energy-efficient hybrid and electric vehicles. The use of magnet-based motor designs, for example, is an approach that transfers well from aerospace to automotive. Benoît Ferran of Airbus Group Innovations, Gregory E. Peterson of Lotus Engineering, and Mark D. Moore of NASA are the session’s featured speakers.
