Product OverviewFEATURED PRODUCTFeatured Products are the result of a new Arnold product introduction, significant enhancement to an existing product, market application development, or other noteworthy industry circumstances. PERMANENT MAGNETS Arnold manufactures and sells a wide range of permanent magnetic products including Cast and Sintered Alnico, Hard Ferrite, and a full range of Bonded Magnets. Bonded magnets include flexible extruded sheet and strip, calendered flexible magnets, and injection molded. Bonded magnets are produced using ferrite, rare earth, alnico or hybrid compounds engineered to meet specific customer needs. Fabricated Magnets, magnets which are sliced, ground, machined, finished, coated and magnetized to customer requirements, can be made from all commercially available materials. Sintered Samarium Cobalt magnets, and Neodymium magnets are the most powerful materials currently available. Arnokrome™ III brand Iron-Chromium-Cobalt is a malleable alloy which can be shaped into bar, wire and rod.
SOFT MAGNETIC PRODUCTS Soft magnetic products available from Arnold are soft magnetic alloy foils. • Soft Magnetic Alloy Foils from the Rolled Products Division include thin gauge silicon iron in both grain oriented and non-oriented forms. These are often referred to as electrical steel. Non-oriented silicon iron is our Arnon™ brand in 5 and 7 mil thicknesses. Grain oriented silicon iron is available in 1, 2, 4, and 6 mil.
ELECTROMAGNETS Arnold is a leading manufacturer of Focusing ("Shaped Field") Electromagnets. These are sometimes referred to as solenoids and are used in klystrons, Traveling Wave Tubes (TWT's), MRI, ion implantation, chemical etching and other beam focusing device requirements. In addition to commercial uses, these Electromagnets are being used in nuclear physics experiments and plasma design studies where precisely focused beams are required. The term "Shaped Field" refers to the ability to vary the field intensity along the axial length of the Electromagnet. There are two fundamental types of Electromagnets:
PRECISION ROLLED STRIP & FOIL For over three decades, Arnold has set the standard for strip and foil made from magnetic and non-magnetic alloys rolled to as thin as 85 millionths of an inch in continuous coils. These products are commonly found in magnetic shielding, security price tags, medical implants, aerospace applications and high temperature wound magnetic core materials. Non-magnetic rolled alloys include copper, brass, and titanium.
MAGNETIC ASSEMBLIES From a few pieces to a few million, Arnold's assembly capability can supply your needs. All commercially available permanent magnet materials can be utilized. Capabilities include shaping magnets via slicing and dicing, centerless and surface grinding, and edge deburring. Assembly operations include gluing, potting with epoxy, plating, paint coating and magnetic testing. Hysteresigraphs, gauss and flux meters demonstrate conformity to industry and customer standards. Existing products are used in such devices as motors, sensors, solenoid actuators, holding and clamping fixtures. Applications using Arnold assemblies include automobiles, electronic instrumentation, oil field exploration and ultrasonic transducers. Sophisticated Magnetic Assemblies requiring field mapping and Finite or Boundary Element Analysis in design and testing are manufactured at Magnetic Technologies Corporation and Magnetic Technologies Europe Ltd. Typical products include both simple and complex copier and printer toner magnet rolls.
REPROGRAPHIC SYSTEMS Arnold is a manufacturer and supplier of reprographic systems including toner rollers and total toner box assemblies from our factories located in the U.S., the United Kingdom and China. As a "contract manufacturer", we have established ourself as a premier manufacturer of precision assemblies for the reprographics industry with specialization in magnetic brush technology. Precision is the important word here: almost all the product manufactured is 100% inspected on in-house designed, automated magnetic field mapping equipment.
